The Balcony Bar & Restaurant is located in one of Byron Bay's last remaining historical buildings. Centrally located, this is the building that first greets you entering the town. The Balcony is one of Byron Bay's Icon venues and most pleasurable places to dine or just hang out on the sunny balcony enjoying cold beer or cocktails. The entrance to the Balcony is featured by a staircase of red carpet. Once upstairs you are invited to a visually sumptuous space overlooking the streets below and Julian Rock just off the main beach. Mongers serves "gourmet fish and chips" . All of the menu items are prepared daily on site by qualified chefs - the chips are cut by hand daily, the Calamari is crumbed in house, the oysters shucked to order and the dipping sauces house made. Whether it's the grilled squid, BBQ Prawns or just Fish n' Chips, Mongers stay true to their strong reputation by delivering crisp freshness and a mouthwatering mix of flavours. In addition to the daily menu, there are up to three daily market specials, which could include Salmon, Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Tuna or what ever is caught locally and in season. You can accompany your choice of seafood with either hand cut chips, a generous signature salad with a golden wedge of corn and crispy kumera or tempura vegetables.
